Key Job Details – PCU Travel Nurse

• Location: Nashville, TN 37207 (Tennessee healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Start Date: July 14, 2025
• End Date: October 13, 2025
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shifts: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1550 - $1590
• Weekend Commitment: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Unit Size: 12 beds
• Staffing: 1 Patient Care Technician per shift
• Documentation System: Meditech EMR
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, or acute care nursing experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care and involve families in care planning
• Willingness to float per facility policy

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients in a 12-bed clinical setting
• Monitor and assess patient conditions using advanced clinical equipment (IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology)
• Accurately document patient care and progress in Meditech EMR
• Participate in bedside shift reports and foster strong connections with patients and families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and unit guidelines
