Lead teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. Your role will involve engaging with preschoolers through academic and play-based learning activities while ensuring their well-being and safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster children's growth and development.
• Provide high-quality care and ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
• Engage children in interactive activities that promote learning
• Manage behavior effectively by using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience.
• Stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.

Experience

• 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of credit from an accredited college or university, with 6hrs in child related courses or Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a licensed child care center or preschool setting
• Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early education
• Working knowledge of and adherence to Illinois DCFS Licensing Requirements
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a dynamic teaching team
• Familiarity with caring for young children, behavior management, and early childhood education principles is essential.
• Certification in First Aid or CPR is highly desirable.
