Staff Accountant

Overview:
Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing financial services firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant with broker dealer experience to join their accounting team. Responsibilities:

• Perform daily and monthly general ledger accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations

• Prepare and review financial statements and regulatory reports (e.g., FOCUS Reports)

• Assist with month-end close and internal reporting processes

• Monitor intercompany transactions and assist with consolidation processes

• Ensure compliance with FINRA, SEC, and other broker-dealer regulatory requirements

• Support internal and external audit processes

• Maintain accurate documentation of accounting procedures and policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience

• Broker dealer accounting experience is required

• Familiarity with FOCUS filings and FINRA/SEC regulatory reporting

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial services industry practices

• Proficiency with accounting software; experience with systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or QuickBooks is a plus

• Strong Excel skills and analytical mindset

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
