Dock Worker

This role involves performing a variety of dock and warehouse tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, staging and wrapping pallets, and accurately entering shipping and receiving information into an SAP system. You will operate equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts, use RF scanners to manage inventory, and support general warehouse and dock operations within a smaller stock room environment.

• Load and unload trucks on the dock safely and efficiently.
• Enter accurate shipping and receiving information into the SAP system.
• Operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts to move, stage, and organize materials.
• Stage items for shipment or storage according to established procedures.
• Perform putaways by placing received items into designated storage locations.
• Wrap pallets securely to prepare them for transport or storage.
• Use RF scanners to pick orders, track inventory, and update stock records.
• Perform general warehouse and dock tasks, including packing, stocking, and material handling.
• Assist with order picking, warehouse packing, and palletizing products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments as needed.
• Follow all safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies during daily operations.

• Experience loading and unloading trucks in a dock or warehouse environment.
• Proficiency operating electric pallet jacks (EPJ) and forklifts.
• Ability to enter data accurately into an SAP system.
• Experience using RF scanners for inventory, picking, and stock management.
• Background in general labor, material handling, and warehouse distribution.
• Skills in packing, packaging, and palletizing products.
• Experience with order picking, order packing, and stocking.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and staging items.
• Basic data entry skills and comfort working with computers.
• Ability to pass a 3rd grade reading level test to follow written instructions and documentation.

• Prior experience in a warehouse, stock room, or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with production or warehouse packing operations.
• Comfort working with inventory systems and order management tools.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small, close-knit team.
• No specific education or formal certificates required.

You will join a small, friendly team in a corporate and manufacturing setting where collaboration and open communication are encouraged. This position is based in a smaller stock room within a corporate and manufacturing facility rather than a large, traditional warehouse. You will work on a first shift schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and be part of a small team of about five people, with approximately four others working in the packing area. Each team member has an individual workstation equipped with a computer, and daily work involves using SAP, RF scanners, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and other standard warehouse tools. The environment is friendly and conversational, and you may occasionally interact with senior leaders such as vice presidents while performing your duties. Dress and conduct should be appropriate for a professional corporate and manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McCook, IL.

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
