• Job Title: Surgical Technologist – Hospital Setting
• Employment Type: Permanent, Direct Hire
• Location: On-Site in Peoria, Illinois (61637)
• Shift: 12-Hour Rotating Shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Salary Range: $27.26–$38.48 per hour (additional pay for Surgical Technologist II)
• Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000 (prorated based on FTE)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025

Surgical Technologist Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (degree or certificate required)
• CST Certification (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) preferred
• At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred (new graduates welcome)
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, aseptic technique, and surgical principles
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus policy)
• Applicants must not have applied directly to the facility within the past two years

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery by gathering supplies, instruments, and ensuring a sterile environment
• Scrub for a wide range of surgical procedures, including pediatrics, thoracic, transplant, vascular, orthopedics, gynecology, robotics, trauma, and more
• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating surgical needs
• Receive and preserve surgical specimens, communicating effectively with the circulating nurse
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff and help orient new team members
• Maintain the highest quality and safety standards in all surgical procedures
• Engage in ongoing education and professional development in the healthcare field
