Coatings Batch Operator — Small Paint Plant (SPP)

A day in the life at NPAA

You start your shift by reviewing batch tickets and process sheets, then head to the Automated Pail Filling Room. Scales and load cells are verified, mixers are staged, and you prepare the line. With safety as your guide, you run automated pail filling systems, operate filling pumps and machines, and move finished goods into the right containers, labeled precisely to customer-specific IDIOS requirements. You shuttle materials safely by forklift, keep production areas shipshape, and record every step using SAP, Microsoft Access Database, and Microsoft Office within the LPP process.

Throughout the day, you’re the first to spot a potential off-quality product and initiate corrective actions following established abnormal process procedures. You keep equipment in peak condition, lend a hand to other Operations areas outside of LPP when needed, and help carry waste to the 90-day Storage Area—closing and labeling containers exactly to NPAA procedures. You also invest in the future by joining improvement teams and sharing ideas that make our plant run better every day.

What you’ll do

• Follow Company Standard Operating Procedures, batch tickets, process sheets, and all safety policies.
• Operate automated pail filling systems, scales/load cells, mixers, filling pumps, and filling machines.
• Fill finished goods into the correct containers per customer-specific IDIOS and prepare accurate labels.
• Safely operate a forklift to move materials.
• Participate on improvement teams and contribute ideas.
• Identify potential off-quality products and initiate corrective actions per abnormal process procedures.
• Use SAP, Microsoft Access Database, and Microsoft Office to complete orders within the LPP process.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in production areas.
• Maintain assigned equipment for proper operation.
• Support other Operations areas outside of LPP as required.
• Transport waste from the generation point to the 90-day Storage Area.
• Properly close and label waste containers per NPAA procedures.

Compensation

$17.39 to $25.75. Compensation for this role is negotiable based on experience and skill set.
