Additional Information About the Role BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Lab Associate III - Phlebotomy for Memorial East Shiloh - Laboratory-MES ( Memorial East Shiloh: 1404 Cross St., Shiloh, IL) Position Details:

• Day Shift: Mon-Fri (5am - 1:30pm)
• Holidays and Weekends as needed
• Providing excellent patient care while drawing lab specimens on inpatients & outpatients. Replenishing supplies, provides effective communication
• PCT experience (plus)

Experience:

• 2 or more years of Phlebotomy experience

Overview Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care including Children?s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. Memorial Hospital Shiloh , a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Perform specimen collection, specimen handling and clerical duties. Experienced in phlebotomy and proficient in performing additional tasks such as central processing duties, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management. Responsibilities Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate system. Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. May work in outpatient lab, in physician office, or off campus patient service center. Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab. Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
