Biologist III

education: Bachelors responsibilities:
- Independently execute critical experiments that directly advance oncology project goals and drug discovery milestones.
- Engineer and characterize stable cell models while deploying a variety of molecular biology techniques to support research initiatives.
- Develop and adapt experimental protocols , maintaining meticulous records of scientific results and deviations to ensure reproducibility.
- Analyze complex datasets and draw conclusions from multistage experiments, designing follow-up studies to troubleshoot technical hurdles.
- Manage cryopreservation and organization of engineered cell line stocks to maintain a vital repository for the research team.
- Ensure lab compliance by adhering to all corporate safety standards, material handling procedures, and ethical codes of conduct.
qualifications:
Required Skills
- MS degree in Biology (or related field) OR a BS degree with at least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Extensive mammalian cell culture expertise and a robust understanding of cellular biology principles.
- Molecular biology proficiency , including experimental design for gDNA extraction, PCR, and related techniques.
- Mastery of aseptic technique and general biology laboratory procedures.
- Strong documentation skills , with the ability to prepare detailed reports and present scientific findings to a peer group.
- Direct background in Cancer Biology or experience with functional genomic screening.
- Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and library preparation.
- Familiarity with laboratory automation and high-throughput instrumentation .
- Experience working within a matrixed, collaborative team environment .
