Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance Electrician
About the role
Step onto the floor as our Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance Electrician and keep a modern manufacturing operation running at its best. You will blend electrical know-how with mechanical savvy to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production equipment and building systems. Every shift you will make safety, food safety, and quality your top priorities while documenting your work and helping teammates grow.
A day in the life
You start with a safety huddle, confirm PPE, review the day’s preventive maintenance schedule, and check open work orders. A conveyor fault pops up during a product changeover: you lock out and tag out, read the schematic, trace the circuit with an electrical testing device, and isolate a failed sensor. You replace the component, verify operation, and log the work and parts used. Later, you rebuild a gearbox, adjust drive alignment, and update the maintenance procedure with photos and notes. Before the shift ends, you submit a parts requisition, mentor a newer tech on proper LOTO steps, and input a technical report detailing an improvement to reduce unplanned downtime.
What you will do
- Follow all plant safety rules and guidelines; wear required PPE at all times.
- Know and execute emergency procedures for power outages, machine failures, and workplace injuries.
- Apply lockout/tagout consistently; report any incident or near miss immediately.
- Participate in safety initiatives such as hazard identification, safety suggestions, and safety teams.
- Use hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and electrical/electronic test equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and facility systems to keep assets reliable.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Repair or replace components and reassemble equipment; verify proper operation.
- Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, machinery, and equipment.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment; maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Prepare technical reports on equipment modifications and maintenance procedures.
- Support plant quality practices including GMPs and all food safety requirements and training.
- Assist coworkers as needed and serve as an informal resource to colleagues with less experience.
- Work within established SOPs and methodologies; help determine approaches for new tasks.
What you bring
- Certification as an Industrial Electrician with demonstrated ability to work safely with electricity.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and solid understanding of electricity, blueprints/schematics, test equipment, and electrical safety.
- Clear communication skills to follow verbal and written instructions, write work orders, and collaborate across departments.
- Willingness to work overtime, cover second shift when needed, and respond to call-ins.
- Strengths in math, prioritization, time management, project coordination, and foundational electrical training.
- Microsoft Office skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in: creating preventive maintenance plans, reading electrical schematics, mechanical troubleshooting, electrical installation, and electrical repair.
