Ammonia Technician

A leading food manufacturer in Bartlett, IL is seeking a skilled Ammonia Technician to join the 3rd shift team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial refrigeration systems. Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration equipment, compressors, condensers, pumps, and related systems.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues related to refrigeration.

• Maintain accurate logs of system operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards including PSM (Process Safety Management) and OSHA regulations.

• Respond to emergencies and alarms related to ammonia systems.

• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of hands-on experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems (required).

• Understanding of PSM, OSHA, and EPA regulations.

• Ability to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced food production environment.

• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

• Willingness to work 3rd shift and consistent overtime.

Schedule & Compensation

• Pay up to $35/hour based on experience.
