Key Job Details – Chicago Operating Room RN

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center Operating Room
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (September 30, 2025 – December 30, 2025)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2620-$2690
• Call Requirements: One 12-hour weekend call shift per month (Saturday or Sunday, 7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Floating: Mandatory float within facility and to nearby units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience as an Operating Room Registered Nurse
• Level 1 Trauma nursing experience required
• Proficient in both scrub and circulate roles
• Clinical experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (no COVID exemptions; flu medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to float to other clinical units as needed
• Strong compliance and documentation skills

Preferred Nursing Experience

• Neurosurgery (craniotomy and spine procedures)
• Open Heart/Thoracic surgery
• Ophthalmology
• ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
• Bariatric and Gynecology

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the Operating Room, performing both scrub and circulate duties
• Assist with surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including trauma and emergency cases
• Participate as a key member of the Level 1 Trauma team
• Float to other hospital units within scope as required
• Comply with facility policies on scheduling, time off, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner electronic charting system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
