Position Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer , you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies used in complex industrial machinery . This hands-on role emphasizes collaborative engineering , working closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing , suppliers , and engineering colleagues to ensure design precision , performance , and reliability .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and model fabricated , machined , and sheet-metal components using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor .
• Develop and validate mechanical and electromechanical assemblies through simulation , finite element analysis (FEA) , and mechanical modeling .
• Apply principles of mechanics , thermodynamics , and fluid dynamics to create robust and reliable designs .
• Conduct interference checks , tolerance stack-ups , and feasibility studies for new mechanical designs.
• Participate in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) , ensuring accurate documentation within Product Data Management (PDM) systems and ERP platforms .
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers , supply chain , and vendors to resolve design for manufacturability (DFM) and production issues .
• Support prototype builds , product launches , and participate in continuous improvement initiatives .

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) required.
• 5+ years of experience in the design of mechanical or electromechanical assemblies , preferably within industrial equipment or manufacturing environments .
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks or Inventor ) and experience with PDM/PLM systems .
• Strong background in castings , weldments , sheet metal , and precision-machined components .
• Working knowledge of pneumatics , hydraulics , and mechanical systems integration .
• Experience managing BOMs (Bills of Materials) and participating in ECO/ECN processes within ERP systems .
• Excellent technical communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%).
