Job Title: Neuro Medical-Surgical (Neuro MS) Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Neuro Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological and medical-surgical conditions. This includes patients recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, seizures, neurosurgeries, and other complex medical conditions. The RN delivers compassionate, evidence-based care, promotes recovery, and ensures patient safety in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with neurological and general medical-surgical diagnoses.

• Monitor neurological status, vital signs, and response to treatment; report changes to the healthcare team promptly.

• Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders and hospital policy.

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to provide coordinated patient care.

• Educate patients and families about disease processes, medications, and discharge care.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

• Support safe patient handling, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Respond effectively to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).

• Licensure: Current, unencumbered RN license in State.

• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred. NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required or preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent Neuro or Medical-Surgical nursing experience.

• Skills: Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills; ability to manage multiple patients; excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
