We are looking for experienced Principal or Sr. Principal Software engineers to augment our team. Successful candidates will be experienced with creating and maintaining DevSecOps pipelines, have Docker and Kubernetes experience. DevOps experience in staging environments, maintaining values files configurations, writes configuration/installation documentation and have experience with JAVA development.
The DevOps engineer plans and evolves processes and infrastructure to execute programs which support rapid maturation and deployment of capability while sustaining a stable security posture and incorporating ongoing stakeholder feedback. Integrates development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks. Implements provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging, and componentizing. Functions with agile principles to execute efficiently in an environment of continuous feedback. Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
About our organization: As a engineer, you'll be joining our growing Aurora Software and Digital Engineering department which has 200+ Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, and Network Engineer peers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. Principal Software Engineers frequently get into informal (example: Subject Matter Expert) and formal technical leadership roles within their programs, as applicable and per interest. Our Software Department is part of a larger organization that includes Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test staff as well as a Hardware Engineering unit. Basic Qualifications:
- Principal level 3: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relative experience; master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relative experience; PhD + 1 year of relative experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Sr. Principal level 4 : Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of relative experience; master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of relative experience; PhD + 4 year of relative experience. An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required at time of application with a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly)
- Successful candidate will perform the responsibilities of a part-time JAVA developer and part-time DevSecOps engineer.
- Successful candidates will be experienced with creating and maintaining DevSecOps pipelines, have Docker and Kubernetes experience.
- DevOps experience in staging environments, maintaining values files configurations, writes configuration/installation documentation.
- Experience developing in Java
- Experience as a front-end, back-end, or full-stack developer.
- Experience developing on a team using Agile methodology, process, and tools.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design and software lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Responsible for planning and evolving processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment.
- Define and implement the build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring standards for the program.
- Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver end-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management framework.
- Build and configure delivery environments supporting CD/CI tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
- Create scripts and/or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
- Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Oversee the company’s security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with the help of developers.
