Banquet Supervisor

:

Position Summary: Responsibilities include but are not limited to; supervising Banquet Service functions throughout the club for all member events, private parties, and meetings/conventions. Directing Banquet staff in ensuring the member's and guest's expectations are met and exceeded. Maintains the highest standards of food and beverage service, and is creative in room set-ups and presentations.

Essential Functions:

• Assisting the Banquet managers in the timely execution and service for all Member Events and Banquet functions.
• Assisting the Banquet managers in inspecting and performing quality checks for every event prior to the scheduled start time of the event.
• Assisting the Banquet managers in holding prefunction meetings with all banquet staff to communicate all planned details, and last minute changes as outlined on the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Responsible in assigning server stations and side work to Banquet Servers.
• Serves as liaison between Banquet Staff, Catering Staff, and Culinary Staff.
• Responsible for the timely communication to the culinary staff of event attendance, event timing, and event changes as they occur. This would be for smaller banquet events up to 50 guests.
• Assists in supervision of the Banquet Busmen to ensure all functions are set up in accordance to the BEO and banquet set up standards, and ready for use in a timely manner.
• Ensures that all banquet staff is in their prescribed, clean, and pressed uniform, well groomed per the club's dress code.
• Enforces the service standards for all banquet events, meetings and related operations including innovative and creative food and beverage/bar displays.
• Assists in accepting member/guest complaints and works with Banquet Operations Manager, and/or Catering Manager to provide a solution in a timely and professional manner.
• Addresses employee concerns to the Banquet manager or the Banquet Operations manager, promotes a positive work environment, and promotes a positive team atmosphere with other Banquet Managers and all other management and staff.
• Assists the Banquet mangers in billing all events in Northstar.
• Helps to meet departmental goals as set by the Banquet management team.
• Assists the Banquet Operations Manager with the ongoing training and coaching of all of the banquet staff as required.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by employer.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelors' degree in hospitality management or any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Candidates with guest service experience as a supervisor in a Food and Beverage outlet.

Experience: Experience in Food and Beverage required preferably in Banquets.

Additional Skills: Strong managerial, organization and communication skills along with a professional and friendly demeanor. Ability to perform medium to hard manual labor, must be mobile and able to perform kneeling and reaching motions. Ability to work different shifts and able to adapt to switching shifts depending on business needs. Able to work long hours during busy times of the year.
