Intern - Roadway & Highways
Intern: Roadway & Highways CKL is currently seeking enthusiastic students with an interest in civil engineering who would like the opportunity to grow their skills in the field. CKL is a multi-disciplinary professional services firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois with offices in Atlanta and Florida. We provide engineering and construction management services to a variety of public and private clients. CKL is looking for talented leaders to build upon our strengths and grow locally, regionally, and nationally. As a part of our Civil Engineering team, the Intern will assist with various departments in technical duties and projects as assigned.
EXPECTATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
On a daily basis, interns will...- Adhere to safety guidelines set forth by CKL Engineers
- Attend onsite meetings as directed by CKL Engineers
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Assist project managers and engineers with various tasks
- Draft details and make minor AutoCAD revisions
- Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member
- Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of some secondary completed coursework in students’ field of study
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office. AutoCAD or Microstation design software is preferred
