Senior Legal Assistant
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Senior Legal Assistant to support our team in various aspects of case management and administrative tasks. In this role you will assist in document preparation, maintain client files, and provide exceptional client communication to facilitate the smooth operation of our legal practice. If you have 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a law firm and medical mal practice experience, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with document preparation and filing
- Manage case files
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates and scheduling
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Review and summarize contracts and legal documents
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts
- Assist in the scheduling of appointments and court appearances
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Provide general office administration support
- Utilize medical terminology in relevant cases and documentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Excellent document preparation and legal writing skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with case management and filing systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with litigation processes and court procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is a plus
