Schedule/Hours:
- Day shifts: 0700-1900, 1100-2300
- Evening shifts: 1500-0300
- Night shifts: 1900-0700
- Flexible scheduling with weekend and holiday rotation (as needed)
- NO on-call; 4-week schedules posted two weeks in advance
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience (community or acute care)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association), NIH Stroke Scale
- Proficiency in EMR documentation (EPIC preferred)
- Strong IV, cardiac rhythm monitoring, and ventilator management skills
- Quick learner who excels in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication, assessment, and critical thinking abilities
- Comfortable working independently and adapting to new policies and standards
- Professional, punctual, and reliable
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to neonates through geriatrics, including chest pain, respiratory distress, stroke, sepsis, and more
- Safely manage a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 24-bed ED with additional fast-track bays
- Collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, RTs, and support staff
- Maintain meticulous documentation and uphold patient safety standards
- Flexibly support departmental staffing needs and float as required
