Customer Technical Trainer

As MEI USA continues to evolve and grow the business across North America, we are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Customer Technical Trainer .
Position Overview:
The Customer Technical Trainer will be responsible for providing comprehensive training to our customers on MEI’s lens edging machines. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical, mechanical, and electrical skills, along with a proven aptitude for troubleshooting. You will utilize MEI’s technical training programs to help customers develop the skills necessary to excel in their roles.
Position (Key) Responsibilities
- Deliver training sessions, webinars, and workshops—both in groups and individually—in accordance with organizational requirements and established training schedules.
- Prepare and update training materials, including presentations and worksheets.
- Monitor and maintain records of completed courses, attendance and training outcomes; periodically evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Provide both standard and customized training to meet customers’ needs, including new product and technology introductions.
- Stay current and proficient with all company products and ensure the proper maintenance and organization of machines, equipment, and materials within the training area.
- Conduct basic and advanced training classes on all MEI products, both in-house and online as scheduled.
- Collaborate with the Customer Technical Training Supervisor to update training guidelines, support Help Desk activities and gather customer feedback to continuously improve training programs.
Educational and Skills Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Professional certification, such as CPTM (Certified Professional in Training Management) is preferred; or 2-3 years of related training experience in some electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and troubleshooting.
- Hands on experience working with pneumatic machines, electric/mechanical parts experience is required. Knowing what the parts are and how they work.
- MS Office Suite and ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Travel 20% to participate in Trade Shows and attend initial installations at customer facilities to understand how optical labs work.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills with time management abilities.
- Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
- Experience as a technical trainer is highly preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Requires frequent lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds, recurrent lifting of up to 20 pounds.

- Starting pay between $34.13-$38.94 hourly, along with overtime & discretionary bonus.
