Sterile Processing Technician - SPT 25-31375

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)

Experience Required: Minimum 1 Year

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join a hospital-based Central Sterile team in Syracuse, NY. The technician will be responsible for cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment in compliance with facility and national standards.

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays according to established protocols.

• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer-disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners.

• Perform biological and chemical testing to ensure sterilization accuracy and equipment functionality.

• Maintain accurate sterilization and equipment tracking records.

• Restock, organize, and distribute sterile and non-sterile supplies to various hospital departments.

• Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.

• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sterile supplies.

• Minimum 1 year of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience in a hospital or surgical setting.

• Thorough understanding of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and instrument identification.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) – Required, issued by HSPA .

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required.
