Position Purpose:

Responsible for Enterprise Architecture, standards and strategy. Develops, maintains and facilitates the use of IT to enable the company to achieve its business goals by linking IT and services to business strategy and objectives. This position is hybrid to our Bannockburn, IL office.

Key Job Activities:

• Is responsible for development and implementation of the overall enterprise architecture management process, including standards and frameworks, ensuring that all organization wide systems, both legacy and potentially new, are compatible with the current and future architecture and landscape. 20%
• Develops architecture vision to consolidate the portfolio of applications into a coherent stack that enables business strategy 20%
• Accounts for the quality and performance of the overall architecture 10%
• Reviews and approves investment proposals from the demand management process for architectural compliance with target blueprint 10%
• Represents Enterprise Architecture in executive and strategic business meetings 15%
• Serves as decision body to resolve potential architectural conflicts 15%
• Provides functional coaching to solution and infrastructure architects 10%
• Coordinates solution and infrastructure architects to enforce the compliance of applications and infra-structure to the enterprise architecture 10%

Scope of Work:

• Working with the business and IT owners, the Director, Enterprise Architecture will influence and set strategic architectural direction for the company
• He/she will develop and maintain strategic and tactical programs and plans to strategic architectural direction, consulting with IT stakeholders on planning of emerging enterprise shared services

Contacts (Internal/External):

• Frequent contact with various Stericycle Personnel; primary contact with IT stakeholders at all levels, including but not limited to Sales, Financial Planning & Analysis, Marketing, Operations/Logistics and Senior Management
• Regular contact with external/3rd party vendors

Financial Responsibility:

• P&L responsibility over respective space

Direct Reports:

• Yes - Enterprise Architecture team

• Financial Responsibility i.e., revenue, assets, budgets, number of accounts, expenditures, etc.

Education:

Preferred Education: in Bachelor`s Degree or Information Systems

Experience (North America):

• Education equivalent to Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline or the equivalent in related work experience.
• Ten or more years of experience in IT with progressive responsibility and influence, demonstrating effective communication with all levels of management.
• Three or more years of experience in setting and influencing company-wide strategic architecture / technical direction
• Three or more years of experience with commercial ERP platforms (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a broad technology knowledge of major retail applications, middleware and platform vendors
• Demonstrated experience in the development of architecture for business programs/projects
