Quality Control Chemist

We are a leading manufacturer of personal care products and have immediate opening to join our growing team! We have 2nd and 3rd Shift roles available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate raw materials, work in process, and finished goods.
• Overview formulas prior to compound manufacturing commencement.
• Assist QA/QC Manager as needed.
• Preform basic laboratory equipment calibration.
• Utilize UHPLC, GC, FT-IR, etc. for analysis.
• Sample and analyze incoming raw materials to ensure the materials meet specification.
• Maintain standards, and prepare retention samples.
• Complete test records accurately, completely and neatly.
• Preform testing in line with required frequencies.
• Maintain representative samples of all the finished products.
• Submit batch finished product samples to Micro, for testing in a timely manner, review reports upon arrival.
• Analyze finished products to ensure specifications are met, and histories are appropriately captured.
• Assist & recommend with sanitization inspections (in compounding area & production line).
• Demonstrate a teamwork orientation.
• Willingness to learn processes, and contribute to development of new processes.
• Displays strong work ethic, and willingness to accept accountability.
• Maintain accuracy in daily duties
• Communicate with compounding, R&D, purchasing and Q.C line inspectors, and raw material vendors on a timely and professional manner.
• Incoming Raw Material identification, assay including evaluation of supplier CofAs
• In-process product testing and batch adjustment
• Finished product testing and release
• Identification and shipment of customer samples
• Scheduling, identification and shipment of third party testing requirements
• Annual recertification of supplier certificates
• Non-routine execution of studies in support of OOS investigations

Document Control

• Includes the Master Formula Coordinator position currently

• Batch record assembly, review and identification and resolution of GDP issues

• Supports customer requests for records (frequently)

• Log issue, receipt, review and retention

• Training Records archive

• LOTO archives

• Manages CAPAs, Deviation, Change Requests and their associated systems

• Archive for Validation Protocols

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor Degree (Chemistry/ or Biology) or High School Degree with 3 years of work experience.

• Experience in Personal care or similar regulated products preferred.

• Basic Laboratory Testing experience.

• Good Communication Skills.

• Basic mathematical proficiency.

• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) Knowledge Strongly Preferred.

• Manufacturing experience with batch adjustment responsibility.

• Knowledge of Physical Testing (Fill Weights, Torque, Color/Odor/Appearance comparison with established standard) preferred.

• Highly experienced with Microsoft Office.

• Experience with controlled documents and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Position Requirements

• Able to stand for an extended amount of time.

• Able to lift 25 lbs.
