FITNESS ATTENDANT

Job Summary

The position of Fitness Attendant will be responsible for daily equipment and building cleaning; both interior and exterior. We are looking for a part-time Fitness Attendant who is available Monday - Friday, 4:15-8 a.m.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Under the supervision of the Fitness Manager, the Fitness Attendant will be responsible for:

• Performing daily facility cleaning and maintenance as assigned
• Follow daily checklists
• Adhere to all Five Points safety and emergency procedures and policies
• Supervise activity on the fitness floor, including rule enforcement
• Be familiar with all the equipment on the fitness floor so you can help members if they have questions and be aware if it is in good working order
• Enforce time limits on equipment during the peak hours
• Communicate with the Custodial Supervisor regarding Five Points issues and relay this information back to the members as needed.
• Responsible for making sure there are enough copies of flyers at the fitness desk. Group ex schedule, personal training price list, etc.
• Responsible for keeping fitness floor, track, and group exercise studios organized and clean
  • Re-rack weights as needed
  • Put away equipment as needed (mats, exercise balls, etc.)
  • Pick up any garbage.
  • Re-rack magazines as needed
  • Wipe sweat and dust off all equipment
  • Keep fitness desk clean and organized
  • Complete checklists by the end of the shift

Essential Functions

The work requires physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment and materials that are relative to the services rendered. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and twisting are required; ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on each leg of a repetitive unloading and reloading process; activities involving risks which are typically associated with athletic, recreational and facility rental events; normal safety precautions typical of these areas of services are required. Exposure to power equipment, outdoors field equipment, implements and chemicals, indoor cleaning agents and solutions and various hand tools will be required.
