Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a motivated, organized, and professional Office Coordinator for the Record Office at Taylorville Correctional
Center. This candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of office practices and procedures including taking phone calls, processing mail, communicating with employees, and working with confidential information. Essential Functions
- Performs technical office support functions including the calculations of Earned Program Sentence Credits (EPSC) and Earned Discretionary Sentence Credits (EDSC).
- Assist in regulating, monitoring, and processing information and documents regarding sentence calculations.
- Gathers information for preparation of reports.
- Keyboards a variety of correspondence, reports, or other information.
- Monitors the Offender 360 System (O360) to ensure correct data for appropriate time awards, time revocations, projected release dates, and mandatory release dates.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of those enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school AND two (2) years of related office experience OR two (2) years of independent business experience.
- Requires ability to keyboard accurately at thirty (30) words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience organizing and maintaining a complex filing system.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience responding to inquiries from higher level staff.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience utilizing software and databases to gather and retrieve information.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience gathering information for report preparation.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience keyboarding documents proofreading for clarity, punctuation, and grammar.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience working with confidential information.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of work experience interpreting legal terminology.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of work experience performing basic business mathematics.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
