Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for utilizing the information from sample request packets to determine die cut details, number of samples required, raw material types, and shipping information. You will also conduct visual inspections, mark molds using a 'Spotter', and ensure precise measurements of pocket depths. Your role includes operating sample presses, fabricating handmade assists for sample production, and making quality evaluations of finished pieces, making necessary adjustments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections and mark molds using the 'Spotter'.
• Measure pocket depths with accuracy within 1/32.
• Back drill using high-speed air drills and set-up sample presses.
• Fabricate assists for simulating production parts and operate presses to obtain samples.
• Evaluate the quality of finished pieces and make adjustments if defects are present.
• Hand-cut samples to required sizes when necessary.
• Transport samples to shipping or UPS with correct shipping details.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to ISO-9000 standards.

Essential Skills

• Inspection, machine setup, process control, and press operation.
• Proficiency in thermoforming and production machine operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Monitor machines for mechanical issues and take corrective action.
• Perform machine line setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Develop machine setup parameters and perform in-process inspections.
• Recognize product defects and adjust equipment as necessary.
• Review and maintain required logs and inspection sheets.
• Assist in machine maintenance and perform preventive maintenance.
• Calculate dimensions and monitor product quality.
• Label and manage tooling and materials for production.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntley, IL.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
