About the Position

Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Urology/Nephrology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required in medical/surgical nursing. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Charge experience required. Telemetry experience required. Knowledge and experience in Genitourinary/Renal care required. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required. Medication administration experience required. Respiratory care skills required. Description: Will work in a medical-surgical unit specializing in urology and nephrology. This position will include charge responsibilities as needed. The average daily census is 23 patients in a 25-bed unit. Self-motivated individuals with a solid foundation as an RN are encouraged to apply. Every other weekend work is required. Floating to other medical-surgical units may be necessary. Candidates should possess strong clinical knowledge and the ability to manage a variety of patient diagnoses. The focus is on patient-centered care, including post-operative care for kidney transplant patients. Experience with complex cases, including urology and nephrology surgeries, is beneficial. Candidates should have experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Wound care and isolation precautions knowledge is also essential. Proficient charting experience in electronic medical records is required. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is manageable, but flexibility is necessary due to unit needs. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring adaptability and teamwork.
