MAINTENANCE TECHNICAN

Hello, NOW HIRING, Direct-Hire opportunity. Maintenance Mechanic (Industrial equipment) A food packaging company (Spices and vegetables) is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd & 3rd shift, for their Gurnee facility. To Diagnose, repair/fix, replace parts on machines such as: Mixers, Batchers, Conveyor systems, Packaging ,MultiVac and Sealing equipment. Must have industrial repair experience.

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
• Heavy mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Fixing, repairing, replacing parts for Food service equipment : Mixers, bacthers, conveyors, sensors, packing equipment. Etc.
• Electricity, Electronics, Electric control circuits, AC & Servo drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
• Identifies the cause of unexpected breakdown of the machine.
• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
• GMP / Cold - Food environment
• Roll Stock Machine experience (Variovac/Multivac)
• Food / Manufacturing or Production experience preferred
• 2nd shift: 2 pm - 10pm
• 3rd shift:10pm - 6am
• 5-6 days a week, + overtime

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems as per established schedules. • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, machinery, and production equipment. • Ensure all equipment is running at optimal performance levels and that all maintenance work is completed in a timely and effective manner. • Inspect and test equipment, systems, and installations to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections, including documenting parts used and time spent on tasks. • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and systems. • Ensure that the workplace complies with health, safety, and environmental standards, following all safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE). • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs during downtime. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth running of operations. • Drives continuous improvement and able to motivate others. • Committed to organizational success and takes ownership for results • Perform other maintenance-related tasks as assigned.

The essential functions of this role include:
