Account manager - pharma marketing

Our well-known pharma client is seeking an Account Manager to join their team for the next 12 months, 40 hours/week.

This is hybrid, 3 days onsite (T-Th) / 2 days remote in Mettawa, IL.

Role Summary

The Account Manager serves as the strategic liaison between the agency and pharmaceutical brand teams, driving marketing initiatives and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role requires deep industry knowledge, digital fluency, and strong project management capabilities to deliver impactful solutions in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

Strategic Agency Account Management with proven ability to guide marketing partners toward business goals

Pharmaceutical Marketing Expertise, including regulatory, medical/legal, and market dynamics

Digital Marketing Proficiency, with familiarity in tools, apps, and platforms relevant to pharma

Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred

5-7+ years of account management experience, ideally in pharmaceutical marketing (U.S. and Global)

Background in in-house or external ad agency environments

Exceptional communication, leadership, and multitasking skills

Comfortable managing high-volume projects in a fast-paced creative setting

Responsibilities

Serve as primary contact for brand teams, managing day-to-day agency relationships

Collaborate on creative briefs and recommend promotional tactics aligned with brand strategy

Oversee project lifecycle from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and compliance

Maintain deep understanding of client guidelines, product attributes, and market conditions

Facilitate clear communication across stakeholders through contact reports and status updates

Lead financial forecasting, reconciliation, and time tracking

Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to support creative development and strategic planning

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
