About the Role
MedOp Solutions is partnering with a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center in Elgin, Illinois to hire an experienced Interventional Platform Registered Nurse for a contract assignment.
This role supports a high-acuity procedural environment across Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), Hybrid OR, and Interventional Radiology (IR) suites. The RN will focus on intra-procedural care, including circulating, sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring for a wide range of complex cardiovascular and interventional procedures.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced Cath Lab or IR nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-risk procedural settings and are comfortable participating in a structured call rotation with rapid response expectations.

- 5 Total Procedure Rooms:
- 2 Cath Labs
- 1 EP Lab
- 1 Hybrid Room
- 1 IR Room
- Patient Population: Adults (inpatient and outpatient)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or IR experience
- First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
- Floating: May float between IR and Cath Lab based on skillset

Cath Lab:
- Diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations
- Right heart caths
- Impella and balloon pump cases
- Thrombectomies (Anarai, Penumbra)
- STEMI/MI interventions
- CTOs and PFO closures
Electrophysiology (EP):
- Temporary and permanent pacemakers
- Ablations
- MitraClip procedures
Hybrid Room:
- AAA repairs
- Watchman procedures
- TAVR
- Carotid interventions
Interventional Radiology (IR):
- Peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Thrombolysis (EKOS)
- Chest tubes
- Kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty
- Paracentesis/thoracentesis
- CT/RFA ablations
- G-tube placement and exchanges
- PICC and tunneled catheter placements
- Nephrostomy tubes and dialysis grafts
- Drain placements
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate and assist during interventional procedures
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation
- Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
- Assist with advanced devices including Impella and balloon pumps
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety during procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Respond to emergency cases during call shifts
- Document procedures and patient care in EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Experience with:
- Circulating and sedation
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Impella and balloon pump support
- Hemodynamic monitoring experience preferred
- Cross-training in multiple modalities (Cath Lab/IR/EP/Hybrid) preferred
Support on the Unit
- Charge Nurse (may assist but typically does not take assignment)
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
- Hospitalist coverage 24/7
- Cardiologist coverage during the day; on-call at night
- RRT/Code Team available for emergencies
- Transport support for IR patients

- Imaging Equipment: Siemens
Scheduling & Expectations
- Day shift with call requirements
- On-Call Requirements:
- 10–11 call shifts per month
- Includes 2 weekends per month (Friday–Sunday)
- Weekday call: 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend call: 4:00 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday
- 30-minute response time required
- Call team: 3 members (1 nurse, 1 tech, 1 additional nurse/tech)
- No sleep rooms available
- Holidays: Facility closed; call coverage required (1–2 holidays per contract)
- Time off requests require manager approval

- 12 hours of unit orientation
