Accounts Receivable Clerk Hodgkins, Illinois

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for the accounts receivable process. Billing through collections. A solid understanding of how the accounts receivable process impacts financial statements is needed. This is a full-time hourly position that pays $27 - $29 per hour depending on experience and knowledge. Medical insurance, supplemental health insurance, 401k with company match and more.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES AND TASKS:

- Accurately timely application of posting cash to client accounts.

- Process credit/debit memos and credits as necessary.

- Contact Customers and/or sales personnel when necessary to follow-up on deductions and past due balances.

- Maintain files of daily cash receipts.

- Respond to customer service and sales personnel inquiries.

- Performs various month-end customer and general ledger reconciliations.

- Produce various month-end schedules/reports.

- Assist as backup to A/P Clerk.

- Assist in other various projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5-6 years of experience in an Accounting, Accounts Receivable or Administrative/Clerical role.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with ORACLE/NetSuite ERP moves you to the top of the list.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
• Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines; self-directed.
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision includes close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently required to sit, use hands to handle computer and ten key. .

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the shop. Should you need to enter the shop, the environment there will include wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, technicians working near moving mechanical parts, potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
