Position: Special Education Teacher

School Year: 2025–2026
Location: Homer Glen, IL 60491
Start Date: ASAP – through the end of the school year
Grade Levels: Middle School
Approx. caseload: 8-10 students
Employment Type: Full-time (35–40 hours per week)

This is for specialized instruction classroom. There will be a 2nd SI teacher in the building as well. She will have the second class and they will work closely together to support students.

We welcome candidates with an active LBS1 Special Education certification in Illinois .

Qualifications Requirements:

• Active LBS1 Special Education Teacher certificate in IL
• Bachelor's degree required; prior classroom experience preferred.
• Experience in Teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement curriculum, lessons, and special education programs using effective teaching strategies.
• Maintain consistent communication with parents, updating them on their child’s progress.
• Create a well-organized, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning.
• Provide instruction to individuals and groups in various areas of special education.
• Adapt curriculum to meet the needs outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and conduct assessments.
