Assistant Baker
Scaling ingredients for bread mixes
Feeding sourdough starter
Washing dishes
Keeping the bakery clean
Keeping the deck ovens clean
Assisting with daily bread shaping
Following specific recipe instructions
Consistently communicating with the bread sous chef throughout the day
Consistently communicating with the Head Baker about daily production, ordering, additional tasks, etc
Completing other tasks when there is down time (scaling and mixing cookie doughs, scaling and mixing scone doughs, mixing croissant poolish, etc) Qualifications and Skills: Kitchen experience is required; preferably 2 years in a bakery setting
Understanding of the baking process and how to follow specific recipe instructions
Understanding and adhering to production schedules
Ability to work quickly and consistently
Strong attention to detail
Open communication with everyone else in the kitchen
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and with little supervision
Able to lift 50 lbs
Able to stand, lift, bend, load ovens etc for 7-8 hours a day This is a full time position beginning in April. Schedule is subject to change but likely Tuesday-Saturday from 5AM-1PM. Compensation is based on experience with raises awarded based on performance
