Precision Thread Rolling Machinist
Step into a day on our production floor
From the first part you inspect to the last machine you clean down, your focus is precision. You’ll transform ductile metals through cold forming to create accurate, repeatable threads—and occasionally other special profiles—working from precision centerless-ground blanks to ensure top-quality results. You’ll keep parts moving smoothly through the department, uphold quality conformance, and maintain an orderly, safe work area.
What you'll do
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot multiple heat-treat machines to meet production and quality targets.
- Adhere to job travelers and quality procedures at every step.
- Dial in machine parameters—speed, pressure, temperature, feed, dimensions, and material flow—to hit specs.
- Start, stop, and cycle equipment using control panels and machine interfaces.
- Investigate issues by inspecting equipment, materials, and parts to pinpoint root causes of defects or downtime.
- Verify conformance using Calipers, Micrometers, and a Length Gage; measure, weigh, and document results.
- Continuously observe indicators, lights, and gauges to detect malfunctions early.
- Clear jams safely and remove nonconforming product to protect downstream operations.
- Partner with your Supervisor to review operations and resolve production or processing concerns.
- Monitor inputs from materials, events, and the surrounding environment to assess risks and maintain flow.
What you bring
- 1+ year as a roll thread operator in the fastener industry (preferred).
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 practices and documentation.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and deductive problem-solving.
- Clear, effective verbal communication on a busy floor.
- Hands-on ability to adjust machine components for speed, pressure, temperature, dimensions, and flow.
- Basic understanding of heading machine maintenance.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and the capacity to move quickly between tasks with minimal errors.
- Physical capability to lift, walk, and handle materials safely; strict adherence to OSHA and company safety rules.
Our environment rewards organization, efficiency, and craftsmanship—and your work directly impacts the fit, finish, and performance of critical fasteners.
