The Executive Director provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and mission-centered direction for the Southern Illinois Coalition for the Homeless (SICH). This role oversees all organizational functions, including day-to-day operations; fiscal management; human resource management; program development and evaluation; grant and compliance oversight; advocacy; community education; and long-term strategic planning. The Executive Director ensures all programs are delivered through a housing-focused solutions model that incorporates trauma-informed care and best practices and works closely with the Board of Directors to advance the mission and long-term sustainability of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Relevant training and/or certifications in supportive housing and related fields preferred.
• Minimum of three years of non-profit management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of the challenges facing individuals and families experiencing housing instability.
• Experience in program development, management and evaluation preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in writing, managing and reporting on state and federal grants preferred.
• Previous leadership and personnel management experience preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management and fiscal oversight preferred.
• Knowledge of Illinois Real Estate laws and regulations preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuickBooks preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with fundraising, resource development, and marketing preferred.

Requirements

• Ability to travel for job related purposes and maintain required auto insurance.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Availability to work occasional nights and weekends as needed.
