Title: Production Manager (Food Industry)

Location: Manteno, IL

First Shift (oversees 1st & 2nd shift)



Position Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production and quality of toppings in a food manufacturing environment. This role focuses on ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with food safety standards, and continuous improvement of production processes.



Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the toppings production area to ensure quality and efficiency
• Implement and enforce food safety compliance measures in accordance with USDA and FDA regulations
• Facilitate cross-shift alignment to ensure smooth operations and consistency in production
• Monitor performance metrics and KPIs, providing guidance and support to achieve targets
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, including 5S and Kaizen methodologies
• Conduct incident management processes to address any production issues promptly and effectively
• Utilize ERP/CMMS systems for effective resource management and inventory control
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes in the toppings area
• Ensure adherence to SQF standards and promote a culture of food safety within the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Management, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in food production or manufacturing management
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
• Proven experience in performance/KPI management and continuous improvement methodologies
• Familiarity with ERP/CMMS systems and production oversight
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
