Caregiver / Personal Care Aide

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for your clients by offering personal care, companionship, and support with daily activities. This position requires a nurturing attitude and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of those you serve. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Safe use of assistive devices including gait belts, transfer boards, walkers, wheelchairs, and Hoyer lifts
• Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Perform patient monitoring, including taking vital signs and reporting any significant changes to healthcare professionals.
• Offer direct support to clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring that living spaces are tidy and free from hazards.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging them in conversation and activities that promote mental well-being.
• Assist clients with dementia care by employing specialized techniques to ensure their comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with family members and healthcare providers to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.

Skills

• Proficiency in First Aid techniques and emergency response protocols.
• Experience in home community care settings is preferred.
• Strong ability to perform patient monitoring effectively.
• Knowledge of medication administration practices is essential.
• Familiarity with providing support for individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments.
• Capability to assist with heavy lifting tasks as required by client needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and their families.
• A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others live comfortably and independently.

Requirements:

• Previous caregiver experience preferred (family or professional)
• CNA, HHA, or relevant certification a plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
• Clear background check
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Ability to lift 25+ lbs and perform physical tasks
