Market Development Director - Endoscopic Suturing

We are conducting a highly selective search for Market Development Directors (MDDs) to join the stealth commercial team of a disruptive medical device company. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help launch a next-generation endoscopic suturing platform in the U.S.
The MDD role is not a traditional sales manager position— it’s a builder role . You’ll own a multi-state territory, drive adoption among Interventional GIs and Bariatric Surgeons, and help shape the culture and strategy of a company set for rapid scale.
About the Opportunity
Our client is preparing for the U.S. launch of a second-generation endoscopic suturing device that transforms Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG), one of the fastest-growing bariatric procedures.
- Economic edge: Complete three ESG procedures in the time competitors can do one.
- Market impact: A disruptive alternative to traditional bariatric surgery and GLP-1 therapy, positioned for fast adoption.
- Timing: FDA approval expected in November, with commercialization to follow.
This is not just another quota-carrying role— it’s a chance to build markets, open new sites, and drive adoption from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
- Drive adoption and procedure growth among Interventional GIs and Bariatric Surgeons.
- Originate new sites —hospitals and ASCs—through labs, site activations, and referral development.
- Act as a builder-player : a senior individual contributor with the mindset of a strategic market leader.
- Manage pipeline with rigor , ensuring accurate forecasting and visibility.
- Travel up to 80% to meet decision-makers, surgeons, and staff across your multi-state region.
What You Bring
- Experience : 5+ years of success in medical device or capital equipment sales, ideally with disruptive technology in a growth-stage company.
- Hunter mindset: Entrepreneurial, resilient, and proactive in building a pipeline from scratch.
- Strategic skillset: Comfortable selling off-contract, structuring local hospital/ASC agreements.
- Team-first orientation : Collaborative, mission-driven, not a lone wolf.
- Communication: Strong presence with both surgeons and administrators; credible, persuasive, and polished.
- Travel readiness : Must embrace extensive multi-state travel.

- North Central: Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cincinnati
