Sales Manager — Ophthalmology Chicago
Growing ophthalmology company is hiring a Sales Manager in Chicago. You will lead a regional team and manage select key accounts with ophthalmologists (MDs) to drive Rx adoption and clinic programs across a portfolio that includes prescription/compound-pharmacy solutions, in-clinic therapies, and complementary OTC/clinic supplies. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the regional sales team: field coaching, ride-alongs, pipeline/forecast reviews, quarterly business planning.
- Manage select key accounts with MDs: expand prescribing, implement clinic protocols, and increase in-office utilization.
- Accelerate adoption using sampling/coupon strategies, buy-and-bill economics, and workflow optimization.
- Launch and scale promoted products across the territory.
- Maintain CRM discipline, accurate forecasting, and territory plans.
- 3–5+ years calling on ophthalmologists (MDs) in hospital clinic/ASC settings (not optical retail). Management experience a plus but not require
- Success in one or more lanes: surgical instruments/disposables , capital/diagnostics/energy , ophthalmic Rx/dry eye .
- Fluency with prescription/compounding workflows and buy-and-bill models.
- Consistent quota attainment; evidence of converting MD champions and scaling clinic protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership (team lead, mentoring, project leadership, or prior formal management).
- Base: typically $120,000–$150,000 (DOE)
- Quarterly bonus: target $4,000–$5,000 (uncapped) + team override
- Car allowance: $950/month + gas; corporate card for T&E
- Full benefits; employee health premium covered
- Must reside in Chicago/Chicagoland ; travel approximately 50% across the region.
