Cook/Lead

Overview:

The cook position must be flexible and willing to learn multiple positions within the Patient Service Line and Retail Service areas of the kitchen to include hot food line cooking & prep, cold food prep & assembly, patient tray expediting, ware washing and prep & assembly of Retail Service cold grab & go items. This position performs thorough methods of food preparation, portion control, sanitation and routine cleaning and sanitation practices in accordance with the department standards as well as operates, maintains and cleans kitchen equipment. 

Responsibilities: Supervise activities in kitchen, dish room and retail food service areas to ensure that quality standards are maintained.Responsible for staffing, call offs / absences, and training.Ensures that department meets all local, state and federal regulatory requirements.Under management direction will maintain standards of service and discipline according to policies and procedures established within the department.Ensure all orders thru vendors are placed by cut-off date.Ensure all cleaning tasks are being completed daily / weekly.Oversee total food service operation in the absence of management.Supervise the patient tray assembly.Complete lead shift production sheets and inspection form.Supervise food preparation quantities and quality.Place maintenance service requests for equipment as needed. Write production preparation for cooks according to production sheets and pars. Conduct daily kitchen inspection, noting issues, and assigning resolve to the issues. Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $15.13per hour - $24.51per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
