Preconstruction Estimator

We're seeking a skilled and motivated Preconstruction Manager to join a well-established commercial contractor specializing in drywall and interior systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong estimating experience and a deep understanding of drywall scopes, particularly within healthcare and institutional construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and apply labor and material pricing to develop accurate estimates.
• Secure vendor and subcontractor pricing for bids and awarded contracts.
• Review and present estimates to leadership prior to submission.
• Negotiate contracts and scope changes in coordination with leadership.
• Conduct regular follow-ups on outstanding bids and maintain bid logs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators.
• Support project setup, including trade breakdowns, purchase orders, and submittals.
• Collaborate with field teams to resolve project issues and ensure successful execution.
• Maintain project documentation in Timberline, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, and other platforms.

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of construction industry experience, with a focus on drywall and interiors.
• Proven ability to estimate and manage large-scale commercial projects.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software (QuickBid, OnScreen Takeoff), Timberline, Excel, and project management tools.
• Ability to lead scope review and job start-up meetings.
• Experience with healthcare or institutional projects is a plus.
