Bartender
Ballyhoo Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Bartender to join our team at Zenzi Den in Glenview . Glenview is a beautiful, modern town that is easily accessible from the city via a quick train ride or a short commute off I-94.
Concept Overview: Tucked into downtown Glenview, Zenzi Den is Ballyhoo Hospitality’s newest concept, arriving Spring 2026. The space blends Japanese-inspired comfort with a buzzy, come-as-you-are energy, layered with natural textures and intentional design. Thoughtfully sourced meats, seafood, and vegetables hit the robata grill, where live fire does what it does best, deep flavor, real soul. Whether you’re settling in for a low-key dinner or gathering the crew, Zenzi Den brings Ballyhoo’s signature feel-good dining and genuinely warm hospitality to the table.
Job Summary: As the main point of contact for guests at the bar, you will play a key role in providing exceptional hospitality while serving exceptionally crafted beverages. This includes using your knowledge of our food and beverage offerings to effectively guide the guest in menu selections. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet all guests and ensure they receive responsive, professional, and courteous service at all times.
- Interact with guests in a meaningful manner.
- Prepare and serve beverages.
- Properly execute the setup and breakdown of bar areas and service stations.
- Ensure that fruit and other garnishes are prepared prior to the opening of the bar.
- Maintain the bar area and keep it in a clean and organized condition.
- Verify that the bar adheres to legal age requirements for serving alcohol.
- Perform all assigned side work relevant to the designated station.
- Adhere to all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations pertaining to health, safety, and labor requirements for restaurant employees and guests.
- Fulfill other related duties as assigned.
Required Work Skills and Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of fine dining beverage programs.
- Ability to guide guests through their dining experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a strong dedication to guest satisfaction.
- Capacity to maintain composure during periods of high volume service.
- Exceptional verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Advanced organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Competence in using Point of Sale systems (Toast Preferred).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of two years of prior restaurant bartending experience required.
- Must hold a valid BASSET and ServeSafe Food Handlers Certification.
