The Winnetka Park District is one of five units of local government in Winnetka. Our properties cover nearly five square miles and include 26 parks, five beaches, a boat launch, two golf courses, a tennis center, an ice arena, platform tennis courts, and athletic fields. We provide a full range of year-round recreation programs, including athletics, fitness programs, education programs, camps, and special events.

Job Description

Pay: $16-$18

Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must possess strong communications skills, be responsible, polite, dependable, and punctual. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Position requires some knowledge of sports.

Duties:

• Arrive at game site one hour before game time, wearing Winnetka Park District shirt and name tag if name tag has been provided for you.
• Check ball field conditions to ensure they are playable.
• If acting as a Facility Supervisor, check the gymnasium to ensure that equipment is set up as needed for the event and that the gymnasium is in order.
• Be helpful and visible to parents, coaches, and spectators while on duty. Provide excellent customer service.
• Answer questions and address concerns in a professional and helpful manner.
• At the end of each game, be sure all equipment and supplies are stored in the appropriate area.
• If an injury occurs, complete the appropriate accident report per the District's accident reporting guidelines as outlines in the Safety Manual. Accident reports must be completed and submitted to the Recreation Manager. For accidents deemed serious, contact the Recreation Manager immediately.
• When supervising the work of the Facility + Field Attendants, may be required to visit various game sites to ensure programs are running smoothly.
• If requested to do so, acts as scorekeeper.
• Enforces all safety standards and Park District rules and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
