1. Final Piece Inspection

a. Responsible to final inspect all cable assemblies before they move to shipping

b. Cable assemblies, kits or parts are checked per the print specification if one is available.

c. Continuity testing is performed on all applicable assemblies

d. Visual inspection is performed on all cable assemblies prior to shipment

e. Quality work instructions are followed if available for specified assemblies

f. Records accept/reject information on final piece inspection log for all orders after they have been tested

g. Internal reject tags are used to note any error on individual cable assemblies. These are returned to production for rework.

h. All quality errors are recorded by failure type.

2. General Quality Control

a. Responsible to check in-process quality on an ongoing basis by walking around the plant and inspecting product

b. Verify that prints are being used correctly, with the correct sales order and part number

c. Verify that measurement equipment are into calibration period.

d. Inspection on First Articles and PPAP parts and documentation.

e. Responsible and authorized to reject material and release product (raw components, work in process, finished good and product in stock), stop production if needed and release production once issues are corrected.

3. Additional Responsibilities

a. Train new quality people as required

b. Communicate with other departments as necessary to enhance and ensure the overall quality process.

c. Responsible to keep the quality area clean and organized

d. Responsible to verify Nonconformance Reject Tags are placed on all nonconforming products and that all nonconforming material is in the Nonconformance location.

Requirements

Education- High School degree required.

Experience- Prior experience in cable test equipment & cable assemblies preferred.

Knowledge of performance standards of assemblies preferred.

Skills-MS Office and Outlook knowledge preferred.

Knowledge of Fluke, Cirrus, Fiber Testing and other testing methods preferred.
