Job Description:
The Customer Service Representative II will support high-value transportation accounts by coordinating shipment activity, monitoring deliveries, communicating with drivers and internal teams, and ensuring timely shipment updates. This role is highly operational and requires strong attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery
- Communicate with drivers, internal stations, and operations teams regarding shipment status updates
- Maintain accurate shipment details and documentation within the transportation management system
- Create and manage bills of lading, proof of delivery documentation, and shipment records
- Respond promptly to incoming emails and phone calls from internal and external stakeholders
- Provide proactive updates on high-priority shipments throughout the day
- Manage multiple inboxes and prioritize urgent requests effectively
- Escalate shipment issues or delays when necessary to ensure timely resolution
- Build strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Support process improvements and operational efficiencies within the department
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience within the transportation, freight brokerage, or 3PL industry required
- Prior experience communicating directly with drivers and coordinating shipments preferred
- Experience in dispatch, brokerage operations, logistics coordination, or transportation customer service highly preferred
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Experience using transportation management software (TMS) is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
- Stable work history with strong professional references required
- Must possess excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated attitude
