Business Manager

The Huntley Area Public Library District is seeking a full-time Business Manager to perform financial, payroll, human resources, and administrative office functions in support of the Library Director and Board of Trustees.

Key Responsibilities

· Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice coding, check runs, and vendor records

· Prepare and transmit bi‑weekly payroll and maintain IMRF and benefits records

· Maintain accounting records, perform monthly bank reconciliations, and prepare Treasurer’s Reports

· Prepare financial reports for library board meetings and support the annual audit

· Maintain confidential personnel files and HR compliance records

· Prepare and distribute board packets and record meeting minutes

Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting or Administrative Office Management with at least five years of progressively responsible office or accounting experience, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is required. Public sector and library experience preferred. Must be able to work some evenings and occasional weekends.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position with a salary range of $58,000–$63,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The position includes participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) and a comprehensive benefits package.
