BG Staffing is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Make-Ready Technician to support a premier apartment community in Chicago, IL 60607. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who takes pride in transforming vacant apartment homes into clean, functional, and move-in-ready residences.

Position Overview

As a Make-Ready Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing apartment homes for incoming residents. You will be responsible for inspecting vacant units, completing repairs, addressing maintenance issues, and ensuring each apartment meets community standards prior to move-in.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents
• Complete unit turns efficiently and according to property standards
• Perform general maintenance repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
• Patch, repair, and paint walls as needed
• Repair or replace fixtures, hardware, and appliances when necessary
• Conduct thorough inspections of vacant units to identify maintenance issues
• Ensure apartments are clean, functional, and ready for occupancy
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Assist with additional maintenance projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance or make-ready experience preferred
• Knowledge of general repair and maintenance procedures
• Experience with painting, drywall repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance troubleshooting is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Dependable attendance and a positive attitude
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
