Database Administration -MSSQLDBA

Akkodis is seeking a Database Administration -MSSQLDBA for a Contract with a client in Rosemont, IL. This role requires strong expertise in MSSQL database administration to effectively manage daily operations, performance tuning, and high‑availability environments.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Database Administration -MSSQLDBA job responsibilities include:

• Manage and administer SQL Server databases, including daily health checks, monitoring, backups, and maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, availability, and connectivity.

• Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high efficiency and reliability.

• Implement and support high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups and clustering.

• Plan, execute, and support database upgrades, patching, migrations, and installation of SQL Server instances.

• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize schemas, queries, and overall database performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 6–12 years of hands‑on experience as an MSSQL Database Administrator.

• Strong expertise in SQL Server (2016/2017/2019), including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.

• Proven experience with high‑availability solutions such as Always on Availability Groups, clustering, and disaster‑recovery implementations.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $47.00 per hour
