Hardware Diagnostics & Refurbishment Technician
Your day at a glance
You begin at the bench, powering up your assigned systems and running baseline checks. You record each unit's condition, specifications, and features so the next technician or customer has a clear picture of what to expect. When a project calls for it, you pop the side panel, swap in RAM, graphics cards, and hard drives to our defined standards, and verify the upgrades stick.
Next, you drop into the BIOS/UEFI, set the correct boot order, and confirm that system settings line up with requirements. Between computer builds, you rotate through a mix of consumer tech: resetting smartphones, smart devices, car stereos, soundbars, and speakers, ensuring each device is tested, cleared, and ready for its next life.
What you will handle
- Run baseline testing for assigned products and document item condition, specifications, and functionality with accuracy.
- Replace core components (RAM, graphics cards, hard drives) to defined standards to meet project or customer needs.
- Navigate BIOS/UEFI, set boot sequences, and verify system settings and overall functionality.
- Test and reset a range of consumer electronics: smartphones, smart devices, car stereos, soundbars, and speakers.
- Maintain steady productivity and quick turnaround while staying professional and organized.
