Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry & PCU position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Rock Island, IL, requiring IL licensure in hand and proficiency with vasoactive drip titration.

Details

• Night shift position with hours of 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Med/Surg Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Patients requiring telemetry monitoring and progressive care interventions
• Procedures include chest tubes, femstops, trachs, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), wound drains, and central line management
• Vasoactive and high-alert medication management including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban — some titration required
• EMR: Epic
• Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; IA RN license also required (if not yet active, proof of application for an Iowa single-state or compact RN license is acceptable during compliance)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required — no pending certifications accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or PCU required
• Proficiency with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
• Experience with vasoactive and high-alert medication management and titration required
• At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
• A supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must have a taxable address located more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Candidates who have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Travelers are required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
• As part of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN contributes clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care
