An opportunity to grow your bookkeeping skills in a distinctive setting. We are seeking a highly organized and meticulous Part-Time Bookkeeper to play an integral role in our financial operations. In this hands-on, in-person position (20 hours per week), you will be vital in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. Your Impactful Responsibilities Will Include:

• Financial Record Management: Oversee daily financial transactions, including efficient processing of accounts payable (vendor invoices, disbursements).
• Revenue & Accounts Receivable: Play a key role in accurately recording all incoming payments for cemetery and memorial goods/services sales.
• Reconciliation & Accuracy: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial precision.
• System Integration: Assist with seamless revenue entry within our cemetery management software.
• Payroll & Benefits Support: Facilitate accurate payroll processing, related tax filings, and assist with benefits administration for our valued team members.
• General Ledger & Reporting: Maintain the general ledger with meticulous coding and classification, contributing to the preparation of vital annual financial statements and tax returns with our outside accountant.
• Cemetery-Specific Accounting: Engage in unique accounting tasks such as tracking cemetery care fund contributions and disbursements, and reconciling inventory.
• Compliance & Organization: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining impeccable digital records and hard copy files.
• Project Contribution: Participate in diverse ad-hoc projects, contributing to overall operational efficiency.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience (2+ years) in a bookkeeping or accounting role.
• Strong command of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Solid foundational understanding of basic accounting principles.
• A plus if you have experience with or understanding of cemetery services and/or memorial sales, though not required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering accuracy.
• Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• A high degree of independence, confidentiality, and discretion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A compassionate, respectful, and dignified demeanor.
• Valid Driver’s License.

• Competitive Compensation: Earn between $22.00 - $25.00 per hour , based on experience.
